I’ve seen plenty of posts online in the home board community about their darts not sticking in the board.  I’ve seen this with both vDarts and GranBoard users.  Our crew also experienced this early on when we first got our home boards.

Victor pointed out he had this issue especially when playing darts and re-filling his vape.  After handling the oils in the vape juice, some of it would end up on his darts.  After a few wipe downs, his darts would start to stick in the board again.  I’ve experienced this as well without handling any vape juice, but from oils your skin naturally produce.

The creative minds of Victor and Danny came up with the “Tip Dip” and handed me one.

This small container has a cotton ball soaked with some solution that can cut through the oil and grease.  To use it, you dip your dart tip, maybe give it a little twist, and wipe off any extra solution.  The end result is that you’ll darts will firmly stick into the board again.

This trick can save you some money in tips.  You’ve might have been throwing away good tips that just had some grease on them.

As far as commercial bar boards are concerned, I don’t have much of an issue there.   Mostly due to those boards being of better build quality vs a home board.  Therefore I feel having a tip dip is necessary if you have a home board.  It’s a lot faster than changing tips.

It also makes a nice addition to your dart bag.
