Granboard working with Dartslive Home
Granboard with VDarts App

I’ve always dreamed of multiple online darting platforms sharing a common protocol to bring together players from different platforms. This would open up the pool of online players and make it accessible to anyone with an online board. If I had the time, it would be a fun project to work on. Fortunately, I came across someone who has taken a step towards this with their creation called Unidarts. It’s exciting to see progress in this direction!

What is Unidarts?

Unidarts introduces a groundbreaking USB dongle that serves as a seamless translation layer between various supported dart boards and dart apps. Simply plug the dongle into a USB power supply, launch a supported dart application, switch on your board, and voilà! Everything is seamlessly connected, making your experience as smooth as can be. It’s that simple!

My Experience with Unidarts

I’ve been using this incredible product for a few months now, and it has exceeded all my expectations. Every project has its bugs, but Joey, the creator, has been amazingly supportive, promptly fixing any issues and providing me with new builds to update the Unidarts dongle. Keeping the dongle updated with the latest builds and features is incredibly simple.

I’ve been exclusively using it with my Granboard 3, and it has allowed me to expand online player pools to include Dartslive Home and VDarts users. Additionally, I particularly enjoy the graphics and experience of Dartslive Home over Granboard’s app for local practice.

While it can be a bit finicky at times, requiring me to re-plug it in to establish a connection, most of the time it performs solidly.

The purchasing and shipping processes went smoothly, and I received the product within a couple of weeks of making the purchase.

If you’re considering purchasing one or have any questions or thoughts, I encourage you to comment on this post or in the related post on the Kraken Darts FB page. Join the conversation!

  1. wow, great post. but it looks like unidarts copied that from the modmydartboard project. these guys behind the modmdartboard project are available already over a year and offer a module which enables crossplatform playing of nearly all boards and apps like unidarts ?!?! i have one module for over a year now without any prob with great community! but gladfully we have those both options.

    1. to be honest, I didn’t know the exist of Modmydartboard module until I shipped my dongle to Thomas. LoL.

they did a great job, the module and dongle are basically same thing logically, but in different format.
