Warning: another catchup post about an older event as I’m getting back into posting about my dart journey.

As the world opened up again, so did darts. I was able to get on a Super League S3 team and attend the finals in Las Vegas, which included several side tournaments. It had been the first traveling for darts I had done in several years.

For our S3 team, it was a struggle and we couldn’t make it out of our round robin. That said, I was thankful to be invited to be a part of that team (Dirty Dartz). I also played a doubles draw event, won a couple matches, didn’t get far, but enjoyed meeting new folks along the way.

I did play the open singles event, it was something to test and push me in my game. It was single elim, and I failed to get past the first round. Falling to an on-point Dasan Alberts. Great player, gave me some strategic pointers after he schooled me.

I somehow managed to get on a team for open division quads . We were called the “Misfits”. It was great having the opportunity to play alongside great players such as Dasan Alberts, Leonard Gates, and Patrick. Those guys play at a different level than where I am in my game, and it was an honor to be on a team with them. That said, we swept our round robin, but had fallen short in the the first round of knockouts to a team from France (relive the live stream here). That France team did end up finishing 2nd, and featured no other than Thibault Tricole. Tricole is currently representing France in the 2023 PDC Paddy Power World Darts Championship.

The final tournament I entered was the doubles bring. For this event I did not play the open division, and played the 18 cap with my fellow Dirty Dartz teammate Aimee

This event was a double elimination, and I recall we lost our 2nd match and found ourselves in the loser bracket. While in the loser bracket, we didn’t really follow the bracket and just kept playing matches as our cards were called, after several match wins it had me thinking we must be far…and there we were in the finals. It was great replaying the team that originally had knocked us into the loser bracket, and double dipping them for the win! It’s the largest bracket (32 teams) i’ve won, and that itself was a good achievement for me. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a pic with my partner holding the banner.

Overall, it was a great event and one that i have always enjoyed. Meeting folks from other parts of the US and even across the globe. I will say it was way smaller than previous Dartslive events attended in the past, but hope they’ll continue to grow.

Looking forward to the next event in April 2024!
