Hey friends, I got another awesome product review for the Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core Steeltip Dartbaord.  The retail price is $84.99 and I purchased it from A-Z Darts.  I put the order in on a Wednesday and received it on Saturday.

Prior to purchasing this board, I had been playing on a fairly decent cork board I picked up at my local goodwill.  As you can see, it’s not a bad looking board at first…but what was happening when I played on this board, my darts would not stick in the bullseye.  I searched on youtube for any remedies for this problem and unfortunately none of them worked.  So I saved up my money and purchased the Winmau Blade 5.

Winmau also has other board versions sold by A-Z Darts which I listed below:

*Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core Champions Choice Dartboard $84.99

*Winmau Blade 5 Dartboard $64.99

*Winmau Diamond Plus Dartboard $52.00

Feel free to check them out and compare them to each other in price/features/looks.  But now let’s move on to the review.

The board came with a small package that included a  wall bracket, hanging screw, 3 adjustable foot pegs, manual instructions and a dart “out-chart” business card size.  The board color scheme is Red/Green, and the steel number ring is painted white.  There’s a BDO “British Darts Organisation” (not spelled “organization”) logo on target “6” & “11”.  On top of the board reads: WINMAU…and the bottom BLADE/5 Fifth Generation Blade Technology.  “Dual Core” logo’s are on target “15” & “16”.

The wall bracket is basic and comes with it’s set of screws.  The hanging screw has a fixed ring to prevent drilling into board and to hang perfectly on wall bracket.  The adjustable foot pegs screw in the 3 metal holes on the back.

Here is what this board features:

*Increase Critical Scoring Areas

*14% Reduction in Web Surface Area

*Reduced Blade Angle

*20% Increase in Tensile Strength

*Hardened Bullseye and 25 Ring

I’m very happy with this purchase.  The quality of the ink on the board were filled in completely, no blemishes.  The spider (wire separating the target segments) is thin which helps increase target area and helps the dart stick to the board.  The dual core also helps prevent dropped darts.  Once the board is mounted, the rotary locked pegs twist to level the board straight which I absolutely love.  I used carbon fiber tips on my board 25mm, I feel the 25mm is ok…but because of the dual core on the board, if you tend to throw your darts hard, I would recommend 30mm tips or longer…otherwise you’ll find your dart barrel digging in the board.

That’s pretty much it.  Let me know if you have any questions, I would recommend this board if your looking for a new one.  Be sure to check out our Facebook page and give us a “like”.  Shoot well friends.

Your insightful review of the Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core Dartboard highlights its technical prowess admirably. The thin spider design and dual core technology undoubtedly enhance target accuracy and dart retention, crucial for serious players. Your emphasis on practical improvements rather than mere aesthetics is refreshing. Great job!
