Despite taking 4th place tonight, I felt ok with the darts I threw.  I still had a slow start at the first 01 game, eventually losing that match in 3 games.  Fixing slow starts is still something I need to figure out, and right now I’m out of ideas.

I was knocked out of the tournament by a really good player who I hadn’t seen play before.  He was rated a 14 and just getting back into darts after a long layoff, he said he’s still rusty, but he shot pretty well (three in a bed’s, white horses, hat tricks, etc..).  It was pretty neat that he acknowledged my game, and mentioned he likes that I don’t give up and that I still gave my partner a chance at the end.  According to him, back in the day (90s for him) he would see too many players give up after 1 great round by an opponent, or after a player had 1 terrible round.

Overall my shooting was pretty decent.  After getting knocked out I play some local play and global.  For the evening in 01 shot a high of 135ppr with an average of 95ppr.  In cricket shot a high of a 9.0mpr for the very first time ever with an average of 3.8mpr.  I was able to get 2 “three in a beds” (first time i’ve done that in 1 evening non-practice), back to back white horses (also first time ever doing that), and had my fair share of hat tricks.  This solid shooting also raised my DartsLive rating to the highest I’ve ever seen it 13.08!  Switching to smaller flights (super kites) so far has had a positive affect in stroke.
